NEW DELHI, OCT 13 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said the BJP's victories in Gujarat's local body elections, along with its performance in recent by-elections and local polls in other states, reflected voters' rejection of Rahul Gandhi and the opposition INDIA bloc.
In a post on X, Shah expressed confidence that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would return to power with an overwhelming majority in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. He also predicted that the Congress would suffer its fourth consecutive defeat in the general elections.
"The people of the country stand firmly with Modi ji like a rock," Shah said, asserting that the latest electoral victories reflected continued public confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
Shah further claimed that the results had exposed what he described as the falsehoods propagated by Rahul Gandhi and the INDIA bloc.
His remarks came as the BJP sought to project its performance in the latest round of elections as an endorsement of the Modi government's leadership and the party's political agenda. The party maintained that the results strengthened its position ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections in 2029.
