When you read a story we record an anonymous, hashed visitor identifier so we can count how many people read it. That identifier cannot be traced back to you, and we never store your IP address. When you send us a message through the contact form we keep the name, email, phone number and message you provide.

What we do with it

Readership counts tell us which reporting is landing. Contact details are used only to reply to you. We do not sell reader data.

Third parties

Embedded YouTube videos are served in privacy-enhanced mode, so YouTube does not set tracking cookies until you press play. If analytics is enabled, the site loads Google Analytics; you can block it with any standard browser setting or extension.

Write to us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it.
