New Delhi, Oct 17 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended his greetings on the seventh day of Navratri, dedicated to the worship of Maa Kalaratri, one of the nine manifestations of Goddess Durga, and prayed for her blessings to bring renewed energy, self-confidence and prosperity to everyone.
In a post on social media platform X, Modi said that the seventh day of Navratri was dedicated to the special worship of Maa Kalaratri. He expressed hope that her divine blessings would illuminate everyone's life with new energy and renewed self-confidence and prayed for prosperity through the grace of the Mother Goddess.
Maa Kalaratri, worshipped on the seventh day of Navratri, is regarded as one of the most powerful manifestations of Goddess Durga. Although traditionally depicted in a fierce form, she is revered as a benevolent protector who destroys evil, dispels fear and safeguards devotees from negative forces.
Her name symbolises the destruction of darkness and ignorance. Devotees seek her blessings for courage, strength and protection.
Navratri, one of the most significant Hindu festivals, is dedicated to the worship of the nine forms of Goddess Durga. The nine-day festival is celebrated with religious fervour across the country through prayers, fasting, rituals and devotional gatherings, with customs and traditions varying from region to region.
Modi's message highlighted the spiritual significance of Maa Kalaratri's worship and invoked the grace of the Mother Goddess for the well-being and happiness of all.
His prayer for renewed energy, confidence and prosperity reflected the broader message of Navratri — overcoming adversity, dispelling darkness and drawing strength from faith.
