Mumbai, Oct 13 : Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) and its electric vehicle subsidiary, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited (TPEM), have signed an agreement with multinational automotive manufacturer Stellantis NV to expand their existing partnership into vehicle technology and product development for global markets.

The latest agreement builds on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in February 2026 and aims to strengthen collaboration in advanced automotive technologies and product development.

Under the agreement, TMPV will provide Stellantis access to its product technology and platform architecture, which the latter will leverage to develop vehicles and capabilities tailored to diverse international markets.

Vehicles developed under the partnership will be manufactured in India at Fiat India Automobiles Private Limited (FIAPL), a 50:50 joint venture between Tata Motors and Stellantis, located in Ranjangaon near Pune.

The collaboration is expected to combine Tata Motors' engineering expertise and manufacturing capabilities in India with Stellantis' presence across multiple global markets, creating opportunities to expand exports and position India as a key manufacturing hub in the company's global network.

The vehicles developed under the arrangement will be designed to meet the regulatory requirements, operating conditions and customer preferences of different international markets.

The partnership is also expected to leverage India's skilled engineering workforce and manufacturing infrastructure to support the development of vehicles for overseas markets.

However, the companies have not disclosed the specific models covered under the agreement, their launch timelines or the financial details of the arrangement.
