Tirumala, Oct 15 : The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has made extensive medical arrangements for devotees attending the ongoing Srivari Navaratri Brahmotsavams, deploying 85 doctors and 60 paramedical personnel to provide round-the-clock healthcare services, TTD Chief Medical Officer Dr Kusuma Kumari said on Thursday.

Addressing the media at the Media Centre in Tirumala, Kusuma said the medical team included 10 doctors from Srivari Vaidya Seva. Doctors, senior specialists and paramedical personnel from SVIMS, BIRRD, Sri Venkateswara Medical College and Ruia Hospital were also providing medical services during the festival.

As part of the emergency healthcare arrangements, Aswini Hospital, the Apollo Emergency Cardiac Centre and seven dispensaries in Tirumala had been made operational. In addition, 28 first-aid centres had been established along the Alipiri and Srivari Mettu footpath routes and at various locations across Tirumala.

Special emergency wards had also been set up at queue complexes, queue lines and galleries to provide immediate medical attention to devotees in need.

TTD had kept four mobile clinics, 15 ambulances, medicines and emergency medical teams ready to respond to medical emergencies. In view of the anticipated heavy rush on Garuda Seva day, special medical teams comprising senior doctors and paramedical personnel would be stationed along the four Mada streets.

Twenty ambulances would remain available until the conclusion of the Vahana Seva to handle emergencies, she said.

Kusuma said nearly 8,000 devotees were availing themselves of medical services every day during the ongoing Brahmotsavams. The TTD medical department was coordinating all arrangements to ensure timely treatment and emergency assistance for pilgrims throughout the festival, she added.
