Bus Carrying Pilgrims Catches Fire in Khagaria, 50–60 Passengers Escape Safely

KHAGARIA, Sep 26: A bus carrying around 50 to 60 pilgrims caught fire on NH-31 in the Mansi police station area of Khagaria district early Saturday morning, but all passengers managed to escape safely, averting a major tragedy.

According to police, the incident occurred around 3 a.m. when smoke was noticed coming from the bus. Panic spread among the passengers, who immediately began evacuating the vehicle.

Soon after all the passengers had safely exited, the fire intensified and engulfed the entire bus. The vehicle was completely gutted within a short time.

On receiving information, police and fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. However, the bus suffered extensive damage and was completely destroyed in the fire.

Police from Mansi police station also reached the scene and assessed the situation. No casualties have been reported.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
