TIRUMALA, SEPT 26: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has initiated plans to modernise its Goshalas and animal care centres in line with international standards of animal welfare, hygiene, safety and infrastructure, with Vantara, a Reliance Industries initiative, offering to undertake the development works free of cost.
TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary held a meeting with representatives of Vantara at the Sudharma Conference Hall in Tirumala on Saturday to discuss the proposed development plan.
The proposed works include tiling of walls, painting of steel structures, installation of GI mesh to prevent the entry of birds and other animals, provision of stainless-steel gates, wall repairs and painting works.
According to Vantara representatives, the facilities will be designed to facilitate the natural movement of cattle, with adequate ventilation, proper fodder and drinking-water facilities, efficient drainage and green surroundings.
The Vantara team presented a detailed plan covering infrastructure improvements, animal welfare measures and the creation of a hygienic and comfortable environment for cattle.
The initiative is aimed at improving the living conditions of animals and strengthening animal care and cow protection at TTD Goshalas.
Venkaiah Chowdary also stressed the need to produce, as far as possible, the milk products required for the Lord's Kainkaryams locally in Tirumala. He directed officials to prepare a detailed plan to meet these requirements, with the objective of improving self-sufficiency in the preparation of milk products used for religious services.
TTD Joint Executive Officer for Health and Education Prabhala Gopinath, SV Goshalas Director Siva Kumar, Superintending Engineer-2 Venu Gopal, Executive Engineer Srinivasa Rao and other officials participated in the meeting.
