NEW DELHI, Sep 8 : Delhi Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Tuesday reviewed the progress of key industrial schemes, programmes and projects, with the government focusing on accelerating industrial growth, strengthening the startup and MSME ecosystem, and improving ease of doing business in the national capital.
The review meeting covered initiatives aimed at strengthening Delhi’s industrial and startup ecosystem, promoting exports, supporting MSMEs and artisans, encouraging innovation, and ensuring faster and more efficient delivery of government services.
Sirsa also reviewed the progress of the proposed Delhi Industrial Policy 2026-2036, which seeks to create a future-ready, innovation-driven and sustainable industrial ecosystem in the national capital.
The proposed policy identifies several priority areas, including frontier technologies, global capability centres, data centres, research and innovation services, healthcare and medical wellness, urban logistics, the circular economy, industry-linked skilling, MSME modernisation and the green transition.
Reviewing the Delhi Single Window System, Sirsa stressed the need to further simplify and digitise approvals and clearances for businesses and investors, with an emphasis on reducing delays and improving service delivery.
The Minister also reviewed preparations for Udyam Samvad, the flagship industry consultation platform aimed at strengthening government-industry collaboration. The platform will provide industry associations, investors, startups and MSMEs an opportunity to share their views, concerns and suggestions with the government.
The meeting also took stock of the ongoing Deregulation Exercise, which seeks to reduce unnecessary compliance burdens, simplify regulations and improve both ease of doing business and ease of living in Delhi.
Speaking after the meeting, Sirsa said, "Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Delhi Government is committed to building a modern, sustainable and employment-oriented industrial ecosystem."
He said the government’s focus was on promoting clean and non-polluting industries, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship, strengthening MSMEs and creating new employment opportunities for the people of Delhi.
Emphasising the need for speed and accountability, Sirsa said Delhi could not afford to lose time in implementing reforms and development initiatives. He stressed that the government must move from planning to execution with speed and efficiency.
The Minister said industrial growth must be sustainable, environmentally responsible and capable of generating meaningful employment opportunities for the people of the national capital.
