Patna, Sept 13 : Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Sunday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the successful conclusion of the 18th BRICS Summit held under India’s chairmanship, saying the unanimous adoption of the New Delhi Declaration reflected India’s growing influence on the global stage.

Choudhary said the summit showcased India’s expanding role in shaping global affairs and strengthened the principles of multilateralism and international cooperation. He described the summit as a historic example of Prime Minister Modi’s “strong, inclusive and visionary leadership”, saying India had succeeded in bringing member countries together and building consensus through diplomacy and dialogue.

The Bihar Chief Minister also thanked Prime Minister Modi for giving international recognition to the state’s traditional products, particularly sattu and makhana, during the summit.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the world is witnessing the rise of India. India is no longer merely a country putting forward its views on global issues, but is emerging as an important force capable of providing direction and proposing shared solutions,” Choudhary said.

He said India’s BRICS chairmanship had further enhanced the country’s global standing at a time of geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty. The BRICS countries’ commitment to multilateralism, international cooperation and a more representative and balanced global order, he added, sent an important message to the world.

Choudhary stressed the need for decisive international action against terror financing, the cross-border movement of terrorists and countries providing safe havens to them.

On the global economy, he said there was a need for a rules-based, open and fair trading system. He welcomed BRICS countries’ concerns over disruptions to global trade and supply chains, unilateral restrictive measures and the need for reforms in the World Trade Organization.

He said conflicts and wars should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy, while countries must work collectively to reduce nuclear risks and strengthen international peace and security.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of cooperation among BRICS nations in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, digital public infrastructure, quantum technology and innovation. India’s technological capabilities and experience in digital public infrastructure, he said, could provide significant benefits to developing countries.

Choudhary further emphasised the need for greater international cooperation on sustainable development, poverty eradication and energy security, including renewable energy, nuclear power and hydrogen, while ensuring a just energy transition.

“The growing influence of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a matter of pride for every Indian,” he said, adding that India had presented a clear vision of peace, cooperation, development and a more just global order at the BRICS Summit.

Choudhary thanked Prime Minister Modi for leading India towards greater progress and strengthening the country’s leadership and stature on the world stage.
