Sonali Desai is a former journalist and marketing communications professional with over 14 years of experience across media, digital marketing and entrepreneurship. She holds a Post Graduate degree in Journalism & New Media from IIJNM, affiliated with Columbia University. Her career began in 2010 at Deccan Herald, Bangalore, followed by Lokadarshan, her family’s Kannada daily in Belgaum, in 2011. She led its digital expansion across social media and PR. In 2017, motherhood inspired her to launch Weaving Roots, a sustainable fashion venture she managed for nearly four years. Her professional journey also includes Hannon Digital, a UK-based agency, 101Reporters, DesignCafe and Magic Bus India Foundation, where she grew into broader communications leadership roles. Today, Sonali comes home to Lokadarshan, ready to shape its next chapter with her experience in media and communications
