Janhvi Kapoor joins AR Rahman’s musical tribute to Asha Bhosle

MUMBAI, Sep 8 : Music composer A.R. Rahman has brought together artistes from the younger generation for a special musical tribute celebrating the enduring legacy of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, with actress Janhvi Kapoor also joining the initiative.

The Oscar-winning composer has created a special tribute song dedicated to Asha Bhosle, which he recorded with the legendary singer before her passing. The song is being released on her birth anniversary as a tribute to her extraordinary contribution to Indian music.

Several prominent personalities from the entertainment industry have come together for the special initiative, conceived as a virtual celebration featuring elements of the star-studded event Rahman had envisioned during Bhosle’s lifetime.

Rahman, 59, specifically thanked Janhvi Kapoor on social media platform X for collaborating on the project. He said the new generation was coming together to celebrate a voice that had remained unique across generations, and thanked Janhvi for adding her warmth to the tribute.

Rahman also expressed gratitude to filmmaker Boney Kapoor for helping make the collaboration possible.

The initiative seeks to connect Bhosle’s timeless musical legacy with a younger generation of artistes and audiences. Janhvi’s participation adds a contemporary dimension to the tribute, bringing together the enduring influence of one of Indian music’s most celebrated voices with today’s entertainment generation.
