Mumbai, Oct 26 : Maharashtra BJP chief spokesperson Navnath Ban on Monday alleged that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected the thinking of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.

Addressing a press conference here, Ban accused the Congress of repeatedly using objectionable language against Prime Minister Modi and his family. He asserted that such remarks would neither affect the Prime Minister nor hinder the country's development.

Ban alleged that the Congress had a history of making personal attacks against Modi, recalling earlier controversial remarks targeting the Prime Minister and his mother. He claimed that frustrated by repeated electoral defeats, the Congress was resorting to personal attacks in an attempt to regain political power.

He also alleged that a Congress worker was assaulted by party members on Sunday after being mistaken for a BJP worker.

Commenting on Kharge's remarks, Ban claimed that the venue was less than half full and suggested that poor attendance might have contributed to the Congress president's frustration.

Referring to actor Naseeruddin Shah, Ban made a controversial remark while criticising what he described as attempts by the Congress to create social discord. He said people would respond to such conduct at the appropriate time.
