Five Mild Tremors Recorded in Koyna Dam Area

Kolhapur/Satara, Sept. 23 : Five mild tremors were recorded in the Koyna Dam area of Koynanagar in Karad tehsil of Satara district between midnight and 4 am on Wednesday.
According to officials, the tremors ranged in magnitude from 2.1 to 2.5 on the Richter scale and were not felt by local residents due to their low intensity.
The first tremor, measuring 2.1 magnitude, was recorded at around 12:30 am. A second tremor of 2.3 magnitude occurred at 1:30 am, followed by a 2.2-magnitude tremor at 3:15 am.
Another tremor, measuring 2.5 magnitude, was recorded about 15 minutes later, while the fifth tremor, of 2.1 magnitude, occurred at around 4 am.
No casualties or damage were reported from the area, officials said.
