Rahul Gandhi, Kharge Greet PM Modi on 76th Birthday

NEW DELHI, Sept 17 : Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress president and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, wishing him good health and a long life.

In separate messages posted on social media platform X, the two senior Congress leaders conveyed their greetings to Modi, who turned 76 on Thursday.

"Happy birthday to PM Narendra Modi ji. Wishing you good health and a long life," Gandhi said in his post.

Kharge also extended his wishes to the Prime Minister, saying, "Best wishes to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi Ji on his birthday. May he be blessed with good health and long life."

The greetings came amid continuing political differences between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government over governance, economic policies, democratic institutions and other national issues.

Despite their political differences, Gandhi and Kharge extended personal birthday wishes to the Prime Minister.

Born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat, Modi has served as India's Prime Minister since May 2014. His birthday is being marked by greetings from political leaders and public programmes across the country.
