TTD Cancels VIP Break Darshan on October 1 and 5 Amid Heavy Pilgrim Rush

TIRUMALA, Sept 29 : The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Tuesday announced the cancellation of VIP Break Darshan, except for protocol VIPs, on October 1 and 5 in view of the anticipated surge in pilgrim footfall during the Peratasi month and the ensuing holidays.

According to a TTD release, around 80,000 devotees are currently having darshan of Lord Venkateswara every day, while nearly 30,000 additional devotees arriving daily are being accommodated for darshan on the following day.

The heavy influx has resulted in longer waiting times for ordinary devotees. To facilitate quicker darshan for a larger number of common devotees, the TTD has decided to suspend VIP Break Darshan on October 1 and 5.

Consequently, recommendation letters for Break Darshan will not be accepted on September 30 and October 4, the days preceding the cancellation dates.

The TTD urged devotees to take note of the decision and cooperate with the arrangements made in view of the anticipated heavy pilgrim rush.
