Lucknow, Oct 28 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday invited Singaporean investors to explore investment opportunities in the state, highlighting its growing industrial potential and infrastructure development. He said Singapore's technological expertise combined with Uttar Pradesh's industrial strength could write a new chapter in global development.
Addressing a 14-member delegation led by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh had overcome its earlier 'BIMARU' image and emerged as a major growth engine. He highlighted the state's economic progress, improved infrastructure and investor-friendly policies.
The Chief Minister proposed developing a dedicated 'Singapore City' and a high-tech industrial township near Noida International Airport at Jewar. He said the state had a land bank of over 75,000 acres for industrial investment and was developing 27 integrated manufacturing and logistics clusters.
Identifying key areas of cooperation, Adityanath highlighted multimodal logistics, semiconductor manufacturing, electronics, data centres, artificial intelligence, green energy, waste management and water recycling. He also pointed out that Uttar Pradesh accounts for around 55 per cent of India's mobile phone production and 60 per cent of electronic components.
He recalled that investment agreements worth around Rs 60,000 crore had been reached during his Singapore visit in February 2026 and stressed the need to convert investment proposals into operational projects.
During the meeting, Greater Nashik Infracon Private Limited received eligibility certification for 50 acres of land in the Yamuna Expressway industrial region to establish an integrated Universal Packaging Hub with an investment of Rs 775 crore. The project is expected to generate 1,880 direct jobs.
MoUs were also exchanged with Agricorp International for setting up a soy protein isolate and chickpea protein concentrate manufacturing facility, and with Blue Planet Environmental Solutions for legacy waste treatment in Noida and a new waste processing plant in Saharanpur.
The waste management projects involve an estimated investment of Rs 250-350 crore and are expected to generate 100-120 jobs.
The Singaporean delegation praised Uttar Pradesh's infrastructure, ease of doing business and investment policies, citing projects such as Film City, Toy Park, Apparel Park, Medical Devices Park and the Semiconductor Cluster in the Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway regions.
The meeting was attended by Singapore Business Federation chairman Mark Lee, CEO Kok Ping Soon, senior business representatives and Uttar Pradesh government officials.
