KINGSTOWN, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sept. 27: Four people were killed and four others injured in a mass shooting in the Green Hill area of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, according to local media reports.
The shooting occurred overnight into Saturday when gunmen reportedly arrived at the scene in a vehicle and opened fire on a group of people. The victims included three men and one woman, while four others sustained gunshot wounds.
The incident is being described as the second-deadliest mass shooting in the history of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. In July 2023, five people were killed in a shooting in the Harbour Club area of the capital, Kingstown. Another armed attack in Kingstown, two months earlier, left three people dead.
The latest incident comes amid a rise in killings on the Caribbean island. The country's homicide count has reached 39 since the beginning of 2026, nearing the 40 murders recorded during the whole of 2025.
Local residents have reportedly suggested that the shooting could be linked to gang activity, although authorities have not confirmed any such connection. Police have appealed to eyewitnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
