Six killed, girl seriously injured in car-truck collision in Rajasthan's Churu

Jaipur, Oct 24 : Six persons were killed and a girl was seriously injured when the car in which they were travelling collided with a speeding truck near Sadulpur town in Rajasthan's Churu district on Friday, police said.

The deceased included five members of a family — a man, three women and a child — along with the car driver. All six died on the spot due to the impact of the collision.

The accident was so severe that the car was badly mangled, making it difficult for police to retrieve the victims from the wreckage and shift them to hospital.

The family, belonging to Somsisar village in the Taranagar subdivision of Churu district, was travelling to a shrine in a nearby village to offer prayers when the accident occurred on the Dadreva-Taranagar road this morning.

The injured girl was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment, police sources said.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
