Mysuru Teacher Booked for Allegedly Assaulting 16-Year-Old Student

MYSURU, Sept 8: A teacher was booked by Mysuru police after allegedly punching a 16-year-old student in the eye at a school here, leaving him with a blood clot, police said on Tuesday.
The student, identified as Rehan Shareef, is currently out of danger, according to his family.
In a complaint, the student's family alleged that the teacher assaulted Rehan and later threatened him with a transfer certificate (TC) and removal from the school if he disclosed the incident.
The alleged assault came to light after the student informed his family about the incident. His father, Wasim Shareef, subsequently approached the police and sought action against the teacher.
Based on the complaint, Mysuru police registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault as well as the reported threats made to the student.
