Hyderabad, Oct 30 : The Telangana government has drawn up an ambitious plan to invest Rs 84,790 crore in the development of Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, with projects worth Rs 55,000 crore already designed, tendered or under execution, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced on Friday.

Speaking after inaugurating the 16th edition of the NAREDCO Telangana Property Show 2026 at the HITEX Exhibition Centre, Bhatti described real estate developers as wealth creators and said the government was open to considering their suggestions for accelerating the state's growth.

He said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was personally monitoring major urban development initiatives, including the Regional Ring Road (RRR), Musi River rejuvenation project and Bharat Future City.

The first phase of the Musi rejuvenation project, involving works worth approximately Rs 7,500 crore, would commence shortly. Sewage treatment plants had also been sanctioned for 21 major drains flowing into the Musi to prevent untreated wastewater from entering the river.

Providing details of the proposed investments, Bhatti said projects worth Rs 15,849 crore had been sanctioned for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Rs 4,000 crore for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Rs 2,500 crore for Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation and Rs 2,163 crore for Cyberabad Municipal Corporation.

Another Rs 500 crore was being invested in road infrastructure through HRDCL. The total allocation for HMDA, the Hyderabad Growth Corridor and Hyderabad Metro Rail stood at Rs 52,736 crore.

He said Bharat Future City was being developed across 30,000 acres, of which nearly 15,000 acres would be reserved for green spaces.

The government was also implementing the HILT policy to reduce pollution by relocating industries outside the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and promoting electric buses and vehicles.

Emphasising that development and welfare were being pursued simultaneously, Bhatti said Rs 93,000 crore had been earmarked for rural road infrastructure, while Rs 18,000 crore had been transferred to 71 lakh farmers under the Rythu Bharosa scheme.

Responding to concerns raised by real estate developers, he invited NAREDCO representatives to submit suggestions on revenue mobilisation, construction costs and affordable housing. He urged developers to prioritise genuinely affordable homes for economically weaker sections and middle-class families.

He also highlighted the establishment of a Skills University in Future City and the transformation of 65 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into Advanced Technology Centres to provide industry-oriented training, including construction-related skills.

Earlier, NAREDCO Telangana President K Sreedhar Reddy urged the government to revise electricity tariff classifications for construction projects, introduce single-window clearances for captive power plants, reduce GST on construction materials and review the increased seigniorage charges.

He also sought relief concerning GST input tax credit for commercial real estate projects.

State Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, Government Whip Bhanu Prasad and other dignitaries attended the programme.
