Patna, Oct 25 : Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Sunday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for highlighting the export of makhana (fox nuts) from Purnia district during the 139th episode of his monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat.
After listening to the programme, Choudhary said the Prime Minister had consistently promoted grassroots skills and local products through Mann Ki Baat. He said the recognition of Purnia's makhana on a national platform would boost the morale of farmers, processors and rural entrepreneurs across the Seemanchal region and Bihar.
The Chief Minister described the recognition as a significant milestone in strengthening Bihar's brand image and enhancing the state's global identity.
Highlighting the importance of the Prime Minister's Vocal for Local initiative, Choudhary said it played a crucial role in promoting indigenous products, improving packaging and marketing, and creating new opportunities for local artisans and entrepreneurs.
He added that greater recognition and improved market access would enable local producers to expand their reach and strengthen their economic prospects.
Choudhary also appreciated the other subjects discussed by the Prime Minister during the programme, including organ donation awareness, the e-Sanjeevani telemedicine service, science and research, brain research, innovation, and the use of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence.
He said discussions on these subjects would inspire the country to make further progress in knowledge, scientific research and technological development.
